George Cox

About Us

George K. Cox, MAI, SRPA, SRA founded the Cox Valuation Group and sole owner of the firm.  Cox has over 40 years of experience in the valuation arena as practitioner, educator, author and regulator. He has developed, and instructed, a number of courses and seminars. Cox has written a number of valuation-related articles, and has served as a guest speaker on several occasions.

Cox began his career in valuation in May 1967 as a trainee with the Kentucky Department of Highways, District 2, Bowling Green, Kentucky.  In 1970 the Illinois Transportation Cabinet as an appraiser employed him.  Shortly thereafter, he relocated to Kentucky and was a senior partner in the appraisal firm of Bartlett, Wright, Cox & Ershig with offices located in Evansville, Indiana.  In April 1977 Cox relocated to Owensboro, Kentucky where he operated his own company. He received the prestigious MAI designation in November 1977. 

Cox served a three-year term as chair of the Kentucky Real Estate Appraisers Board, and is a former president of the Bluegrass Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, and the Evansville Chapter of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers.  He is nationally recognized for his experience and knowledge in valuation-related issues, especially in litigation valuation.  He holds a General Real Property Appraiser Certification in Kentucky, Illinois, and Indiana, and is a licensed real estate broker in Kentucky and Indiana.
